LUMSA (Libera Università degli Studi Maria Ss. Assunta di Roma) is a public non-state Italian university formed on Catholic principles. It is the second oldest university in Rome after Sapienza and was founded by Luigia Tincani in 1939. Professionalism, growth, and development are the University’s fundamental principles, along with teaching, employment, research, and the student experience.

Over the years, in line with the Laudato si’ Encyclical by Pope Francis’ and the 2030 UN Agenda for Sustainable Development, LUMSA University has expressed its commitment to Sustainability by launching the first Master in Management of Sustainable Development Goals in Italy, in collaboration with Candriam, a recognised pioneer and leader in sustainable investing, and its Academy, and many other master’s courses addressing sustainability in its different facets (e.g., finance, management, mobility).
This partnership harnesses Candriam’s more than 25 years experience and expertise in sustainable investing to enhance LUMSA’s curriculum, preparing students to lead with sustainability at the forefront of their professional endeavours.
